Our Wedding

We met at HEC Paris during our MBA, at one of those chaotic group dinners where half the class had squeezed into a 20 sqm room in Jouy-en-Josas where 3 improvised chefs were making pasta.Amid all the noise, Claudio noticed Xinchen - and to be clear, it wasn't her looks or her easy charm that got him. It was her love for carbonara. Truly, deeply, no notes. He knew right then this was an interesting girl. One with priorities.So naturally, for their first proper date, Claudio offered to cook her dinner in his student dorm room - a bold move for someone who is, to put it kindly, not a natural in the kitchen.He assumed it would be a one-time culinary disaster, and knew that would have been the first and last meal they would have shared together. Against all odds, she agreed to a second. And many more. Paris gave us three years together, and then we decided to make things complicated. We spent a year living between Italy and China, splitting our time (and our hearts) across two very different corners of the world. For the past year, the Middle East has been "home." Where to next? We genuinely still have no idea! A roman dish, a questionable first dinner, and three continents later, here we are. We still don't know where we're headed, but we've figured out the important part: we're going together.

Our Wedding Locations 🥂 Welcome Drinks at Palazzo Portinari Salviati We are delighted to welcome you to Palazzo Portinari Salviati, a beautiful Renaissance palazzo in the heart of Florence. The palazzo stands on the site where Beatrice Portinari, the woman who inspired Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy and one of the most celebrated figures of Florentine history, was born and lived. 📍 Location: In the historic centre of Florence, just steps away from the Duomo.Getting there:🚶‍♀️ On foot: The palazzo is within easy walking distance from most hotels and landmarks in central Florence.🚕 By taxi: A convenient option if you are staying further away or prefer not to walk. 💍 Wedding Day at Villa Gamberaia Our wedding day will take place at Villa Gamberaia, one of the most enchanting historic villas overlooking the hills of Settignano, just outside Florence. 📍 Location: Settignano, approximately 15–20 minutes from Florence city centre.Getting there:🚕 By taxi: The easiest and most convenient option, with a journey of approximately 15–20 minutes from central Florence.🚗 By car: Complimentary parking is available at the villa.🚌 By public transport: Take the bus from Florence to Settignano, followed by a short walk to the villa. We recommend allowing a little extra travel time, especially during peak hours, so you can arrive relaxed and enjoy every moment of this special day. Additional Travel Transportation will be communicated closer to the dates.

Travel

Guests are welcome to stay at Villa Gamberaia, where a limited number of rooms will be available. Booking details will be shared here very soon. Alternatively, there are plenty of accommodations either in Florence center or near the area. Please let us know in the advance in the RSVP form if you will need transportation.

Please note down at RSVP page. What is the dress code?Cocktail Elegance for the Welcome Event &amp; Formal Glamorous for the Wedding Day. For the wedding day, we encourage elegant outfits suitable for an outdoor celebration. Will the wedding be outdoors?Yes. Most of the celebration will take place outdoors, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes for walking on gravel and garden paths. We will provide heel protections suitable for walking on Grass. Look out for them in the ladies room. Will it be chilly in the evening?Even during the warmer months, evenings can become cooler. We suggest bringing a light jacket or shawl. How do I get to Villa Gamberaia?If coming with your own car, the venue is just 15–20 minutes from Florence city center. Is parking available?Yes, complimentary parking will be available for all guests. Will transportation be provided?Transportation arrangements will be communicated closer to the wedding date. To properly arrange it and plan schedule and pick points we will wait for all the guest to respond the RSVP.
